RIP Circuit City

Posted in Tech News on January 17, 2009 by nrgent

Circuit City, after failing to be bought by another company, will begin liquidation on Saturday, Jan 17th.  Circuit City has been open for 60 years to date but could not compete in the failing United States economy.  Approximitaly 34,000 associates are going to be losing their job with the company closing.  So for anyone who wants to get some bargain prices on electronics–here’s your chance!

As a side note, Circuit Citys (Circuit Cities? Hmm) in Canada will remain open, so who knows, maybe when the economy improves we may see the company return.

PS3 Price Cut

Posted in Tech News on January 16, 2009 by nrgent

Rumor has it Sony is planning to cut the price of the PS3 by $100 sometime this spring to compete more with the Xbox 360.  This could be just what Sony needs to bring up Blu-Ray sales and bring HD into the average consumer’s home.  Now if only we built those PS3s here in the U.S. maybe we could stimulate the economy to.

Thesis statement.

Life in my world has been thrilling lately, CES ended just recently and I was, once again, dazzled my the hundreds of electronic devices that were introduced that could make my life easier and more entertaining.  In other news the new Daniel Craig movie, Defiance, makes its wide release tomorrow so you can expect to see a review of that up sometime tomorrow after I’ve managed to drag myself to the theater.  At this point, however, I don’t have any specific news or exciting events, however I will keep this blog updated with both movies reviews and update on new and innovative tech products.  At some point I’m going to narrow my blog down and drop either movies reviews and information or tech information, so if anyone feels I should pick one over the other please drop me a comment.
